The present invention relates to a kit for detecting left ventricular hypertrophy and a method for detecting markers of left ventricular hypertrophy. The present invention has found strong evidence that several SNPs are involved in LV hypertrophy. The analysis of the presence of these important SNPs predicts left ventricular hypertrophy and anticipates the cardiovascular disease state of the patient and ultimately can be usefully used for simple genetic in vitro diagnosis of cardiovascular disease.
