The present invention relates to a main circuit breaker (MCB) control system and a main circuit breaker control method using the same. The MCB control system comprises an MCB control unit and a power phase angle control unit. The MCB control unit comprises: a signal input unit to which an operation signal of the MCB is inputted; an operation condition checking unit for checking an operation condition of the MCB in accordance with the input of an operation signal; and an operation unit for operating the MCB when the operation condition of the MCB is satisfied. The power phase angle control unit measures a trolley voltage and controls an operation timing of the MCB based on a power phase angle of the measured trolley voltage to minimize an inrush current corresponding to the operation of the MCB. The present invention provides an MCB control system capable of minimizing an inrush current by controlling a power phase angle of a trolley voltage at the time of operation of an MCB used in a railway vehicle, and capable of setting an operating point of a protection system in a normal range.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
