According to the present invention, disclosed are a system for calculating a road surface friction coefficient in consideration of road geometry and a method thereof. According to the present invention, as a road surface friction coefficient of a road is calculated in consideration of a road geometry structure of the road on which a vehicle is driven through GIS analysis, a road pavement type, and time varying precipitation, the road surface friction coefficient of the road on which a vehicle is driven can be calculated in real time, and accuracy with respect to the road surface friction coefficient can be improved.
