This disclosure relates to a transmitter architecture of a low complexity for driving the phase modulator to a digital signal to produce a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to be transmitted by the antenna. In some embodiments, the system includes a pre-processing component for generating a first digital control signal and a second digital control signal from the digital baseband signal. A first phase-modulated components to generate a first digital signal to introduce a first phase shift to the local oscillator signal based on a first control signal and corresponds to the first phase shift. A second phase-modulated components to generate a second digital signal for introducing a second phase shift to the first local oscillator signal based on the second control signal and corresponds to the second phase shift.
