According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided is a pattern search method as a color synthetic lighting control method. Even when the present invention is applied to a repeated pattern generated on a large area, an index is not saturated; thereby a high resolution image with respect to an inspection object having a large area and a large quantity of repeated patterns is able to be obtained. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the pattern search method as a color synthetic lighting control method of improving large area image resolution comprises: (i) a step of obtaining a digital image to be converted into a gray level image; (ii) a step of correcting brightness of an inspection image; (iii) a step of selecting a resolution index () to which a gray level (P(i,j)) of each pixel of the corrected gray level image is reflected; (iv) a step of defining an evaluation function (f= - (U)) to make the resolution index have a maximum value; (v) a step of forming a probe, and inducing an evaluation function value by the probe; (vi) a step of obtaining a light source input value; (vii) a step of controlling a synthetic light source generator using the obtained light source input value; and (viii) a step of repeatedly performing steps (i)-(vii) until the resolution index becomes a maximum value.
