Provided is an absolute distance measuring apparatus without a non-measurable range or directional ambiguity. The apparatus to measure the absolute distance comprises: a mode-locked optical comb laser; a first optical divider dividing a beam through a reference route and a measurement route by receiving output light of the mode-locked optical comb laser; a second optical divider dividing a beam with a first reference mirror and a second reference mirror by receiving a reference beam of the reference route; a measurement target receiving a measurement beam of the measurement route from the first optical divider, and reflecting the measurement beam; an optical spectrum analyzer which measures a spectrum in accordance with the wave lengths by receiving a beam reflected from the measurement target through the first optical divider along the measurement route, and receiving the beam reflected from the first reference mirror and the beam reflected from the second reference mirror through the first optical divider in the reference route; and a calculation unit which extracts the absolute distance of the measurement target by analyzing the measurement results of the optical spectrum analyzer.
