The present invention relates to functional cotyledon sprout tea using sprout with cotyledons and roots and a method for preparing the same. The method includes the steps of: (1) adding water to a mixture of cassia seeds, cockscombs, and dicentras and preparing extract by extracting the mixture; (2) sprouting seeds, gathering sprouts with cotyledons and roots, and washing the sprouts; (3) putting the sprouts with cotyledons and roots gathered in the second step in a cold-air dryer and drying the sprouts as the extract of the first step is sprayed on the sprouts; (4) roasting the sprouts dried in the third step and preparing sprout tea; and (5) grinding and packaging the sprout tea produced in the fourth step. The cotyledon sprout tea of the present invention is characterized by removing intrinsic greenish tastes and other odors of the cotyledon and root while increasing water solubility of the tea and enhancing obesity suppressing effects.
