METHOD FOR REGULATING A SYSTEM FITTED WITH A LEVER DRIVE VALVE MECHANISM, METHOD FOR OPERATING A SUPPLY PRESSURE REGULATOR AND METHOD FOR REGULATING A SYSTEM WITH A REDUCED OPERATING UNIT
1. A method of regulating a system equipped with a lever mechanism of a valve actuator, comprising the step of applying, in addition to adjustments to position control with feedback, an inharmonic oscillation to the drive of the system equipped with a lever mechanism of the valve actuator. 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the non-harmonic oscillation is a repeated non-harmonic oscillation, applied only to a subset of the valve lift of the boost pressure regulator, closest to, but not corresponding to, the valve seat of a system equipped with a lever mechanism of the valve drive. The method of claim 2, wherein the non-harmonic oscillation is non-sinusoidal. The method according to claim 2, wherein the non-harmonic oscillation is periodic and has a superposition frequency determined based on the bounce frequency. The method according to claim 4, wherein the bounce frequency is a period between successive times at which the valve of the boost pressure regulator of the lever-equipped valve actuator system makes contact with the valve seat of the lever-equipped valve actuator system. The method of claim 5, wherein contact with the valve seat is detected by monitoring the output from the actuator position sensor. The method of claim 5, wherein the non-harmonic oscillation is non-harmonic with respect to the bounce frequency. The method of claim 4, wherein the overlap frequency is further determined based on a constant times the frequency of bounce, the constant being an approximate ratio of Fibonacci numbers.
