FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing halogenated butyl rubber and an apparatus for producing butyl rubber adhesive for use in production of halogenated butyl rubber. Method and apparatus permit direct mixing of aqueous rubber slurry with a non-halogenated organic solvent to make a rubber adhesive solution. Water layer is then separated from partially dissolved rubber adhesive and adhesive phase is sent for halogenation.
