FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used for secondary caries detection. Group of inventions is presented by device and method of secondary caries detection. Device contains in its housing (6) current generation unit, preamplifiers unit (4), microprocessor control unit (5), and at least one fixed electrode (2) located on oral mucosa and at least one movable electrode installed on tooth (1). Electric stimulation signal is fed to electrodes having shape of sinusoidal alternating current with frequency varying from 200 Hz to 100 kHz and amplitude from 50 mV to 5 V. Amplitude and phase of electrical response on electrodes at selected frequency and frequencies multiple to selected frequency are measured to provide harmonic response spectrum. Response spectrum is analyzed for identification of signs specific for caries changes.;EFFECT: group of inventions enables fast, non-invasive and accurate detection of secondary caries by determining change of tooth harmonic response on selected frequency and frequencies multiple to selected frequency.;7 cl, 8 dwg, 4 ex
