FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to select available for saturation siltstone terrigenous rocks working fluids during petrophysical investigations in laboratory conditions. Aqueous solution of methylene blue dye is used in volume of 10 cm3 with concentration of 0.73 mg/cm3 per 1 g of core material for conducting petrophysical investigations. Method comprises express separation of core samples into separate groups and selecting allowable liquids for saturation said groups of core samples depending on degree of staining. Allowable fluids used are kerosene or distilled water or formation water model.;EFFECT: use of rapid method at sample preparation step enables to avoid permanent destruction of samples during liquid saturation.;1 cl
