Electrospray emitter comprising a chromatography column (1) comprising a first capillary (3) and a stationary phase (5), and a second capillary (7), wherein the first capillary (3) has a fluid inlet and an outlet opening (11) and is packed with the stationary phase (5), wherein the second capillary (7) is partially disposed within the first capillary (3) and fixed within the first capillary (3) using an adhesive (9), the adhesive (9 ) between the outside of the second capillary (7) and the inside of the first capillary (3) and wherein a portion of the second capillary (7) protrudes from the outlet opening (11) and the second capillary (7) inside the first capillary (3) terminating at the stationary phase (5), and wherein the first capillary (3) has an outer diameter ranging from 360 μm to 720 μm and an inner diameter ranging from 100 μm to 150 μm, and the second capillary (7) has an outer diameter which is in the range of 40 microns to less than 150 microns and an inner diameter which is in the range of 5 microns to 30 microns, and wherein a conductive coating based on the first (3) and / or the second capillary (7) is applied to facilitate a high voltage connection between a power source and the first (3) and / or the second capillary (7).
