The beveled front part of the hfbr.sub.2 - plug (exemplary drawing hfbr.sub.2 - 4531) is extended and according to the packaging (insertion and locking of the fiber) to the appropriate (previous) length, together with the core of the fiber is cut off.With the invention, it is attained that the end face of the fibre (core) by the use of the special cutting pliers no repulido required, and the core of the fiber and the end face of the plug form a flush surface.
