A sensor module (1), in particular for the non-contacting operation of an adjustable vehicle part, comprises a capacitive proximity sensor (3) as well as a carrier element (2) for mounting on a vehicle part (25). The capacitive proximity sensor (3), in turn, comprises a number of electrical functional parts (5, 6), namely at least one electronic unit (6) as well as at least one sensor electrode (5, electrically connected). The functional parts (5, 6) of the capacitive proximity sensor (3) are in this case on the carrier element (2) fastened. The support element (2) is at least partially flexible with regard to its shape, so that the support element (2) in the course of its mounting on the vehicle part (25) into a shape predetermined by a particular installation position can be brought. For this purpose, the carrier element comprises at least one flexible network (10), in particular made of plastic.
