Component for a fluid meter flowed through by fluid, in particular water meter, wherein the component consists of plastic and is provided for a region of the fluid meter, which comes into contact with the fluid, wherein in the plastic of the component, a bioactive substance is finely dispersed, so that the plastic of the component upon contact with fluid unfolds a bioactive effect in the fluid meter.
