The invention relates to a detection system which deactivates an ignition system of a vehicle in the event of a positive identification of a driver under the influence of narcotics. It consists of a first sensor and a second sensor for data acquisition near the driver and a universal data bus, through which the analysis of the data and the determination of whether the potential driver is under the influence of narcotics. It also consists of an immobilizer for deactivating the ignition system of the vehicle by opening the contacts of selected electrical circuits when the potential driver is under the influence of narcotics and a timer and reset switch, the components being interconnected by communication channels of a global control system electrical lines or alternatively optically or connected by radio technology.
