The approach presented here relates to a method for providing a warning signal (105) for detecting imminent microsleep for a second-sleep early-detection device (100) for a vehicle (110). The method comprises at least one step of reading in at least one behavior pattern that represents a behavior of a driver while driving with the vehicle. Furthermore, the method comprises a step of comparing the behavior pattern with at least one stored pre-seconds sleep pattern representing an individual behavior taken or taking place before a second-sleep of the driver. Finally, the method includes a step of outputting the warning signal (105) when a predetermined relationship exists between the behavior pattern and the pre-secondary sleep pattern.
