The object of the invention has been found to develop a method that allows to reduce the snoring or shut down completely. In particular, after a learning time, the transmission of the interference signal should be carried out in advance before the onset of a snore tone and self-learning by means of adapted and prolonged interference pauses on the individual snoring behavior of a person. Thus, the disturbances of the "right" sleep are significantly mitigated by the reduced transmitted noise. It is further provided to use the detected respiratory rate to evaluate a respiratory arrest and to send a corresponding "wake-up" signal. It may be possible to achieve a cure for the apnea or the cessation of snoring.
