Composition for prolonged release of trimetazidine, comprises an inner phase comprising trimetazidine and an outer layer comprising a retardant and an antiagglomerant. An independent claim is included for preparing the composition comprising coating the neutral cores with trimetazidine and the binder to form minigranules, coating the minigranules with the retardant, the plasticizer and the antiagglomerant, and filling the coated minigranules into capsules, optionally in the presence of a lubricant.
