The invention relates to an optical fibre (10) comprising at least one fibre core (100) and an optical fibre cladding (200), both of which mainly consist of silica glass, the optical fibre cladding (200) comprising metallic palladium included in silica glass. The optical fibre cladding (200) comprises at least one first, inner part (210) in contact with the fibre core (100), a second, intermediate part (220) surrounding the first part (210), and a third, outer part (230) surrounding the second part (220). The second part (220) consists of silica glass bridges (221) connecting the first and third parts (210, 230), the glass bridges (220) defining cavities (222) between each other, the third part (230) being the part of the optical fibre cladding (200) comprising the silica glass including metallic palladium. The invention also relates to a method for producing such an optical fibre, to a use of said optical fibre, and to a system for the quantitative measurement and/or detection of hydrogen.
