Online transactional systems, methods and computer program products for the processing of alternative electronic payment methods (AMOP) in online transactions. A mass storage device hosts a database that stores data to transform one or more virtual payment forms into data related to one or more AMOPs. Each of the one or more virtual payment forms stored in the database is compatible with an existing merchant system. In response to receiving data that is related to an AMOP, as part of an online transaction with the merchant, the AMOP data is transformed to create a form of virtual payment compatible with the merchant's existing system. The virtual payment form is then transmitted to the merchant's existing system for processing and the data used to transform the virtual payment form into AMOP data is stored in the database.
