Joint acoustic echo control and adaptive array processing

A teleconference system of M microphones 102 decomposes the sound field into NM subfields 103, applies linear acoustic echo control (AEC) 104, performs adaptive array processing (eg. beamforming) on L selected sub-fields after the linear AEC and finally applies non-linear echo control 107 before output. The L sub-fields may be selected so as to have less mutual coherence and the decomposition performed via a decomposition matrix of size M´N.
