START-UP PROCEDURE FOR GASIFYING SOLID FUELS IN A CIRCULATING FLUIDIZED BED

Method and apparatus for gasifying solid fuels in a gasifier with a circulating fluid bed. In the gasifier, conditions are created and maintained for a continuous gasification of solid fuels with a controlled supply of oxygen. During starting up, substantially steam is used for fluidization and circulation of the fluid bed. For that purpose, the apparatus is provided with a supply pipe for steam.
