Transmission of field bus signals over an ethernet medium

The invention relates to a method for transmitting field bus signals between at least two field bus stations (2a, 2b, 16) of a field bus system (1), in particular of the Process Field Bus, Profibus, type. The field bus stations (2a, 2b, 16) are adapted to transmit the field bus signals over a field bus medium (3a, 3b) having a first impedance (R1), and at least part of the transmission of the field bus signals is performed over an Ethernet transmission medium (5a, 5b, 6) having a second impedance (R2) being different from the first impedance (R1). The invention also relates to a corresponding field bus system (1), to a wireless communications network, and to a balun (7a, 7b).
