The invention relates inter alia to a dry dual clutch comprising a first friction clutch and a second friction clutch, the friction clutches being connectible to a respective transmission input shaft in order to transmit torque from at least one drive to the respective transmission input shaft. The friction clutches comprise at least one clutch plate each having at least two friction linings that are disposed on different sides of a carrier element. The invention is characterized in that the friction surfaces and the corresponding friction partners of the two friction linings of at least one of the clutch plates have different lining qualities. Dry dual clutches having clutch plates with different lining qualities (i.e. when the right-hand friction face is compared to the left-hand friction face of the clutch plate) result in a good functional overall system compromise with respect to torque capacity, comfort and wear properties.
