The transducer (1) has a liquid matching layer (4) that is provided between an electromechanical transducer element (2) and an ultrasonic window (3). The electrochemical transducer element is provided on the ultrasonic window. A spring (6) is provided for applying a releasable force to electromechanical transducer element in direction of ultrasonic window, so as to hold the electrochemical transducer element in a predetermined position. The liquid of matching layer is made of mineral, ester and silicone oil. An independent claim is included for ultrasonic flowmeter.
