The device has a guide unit including a contact section (16) for casing-side contact at a glue bar, and for guiding the glue bar in an advancing direction. The guide unit includes a spring unit (10) i.e. silicone cuff, which is formed and arranged such that a resetting force is built in the spring unit by elastic deformation by action of force acting on the contact section in the advancing direction. The resetting force acts on the contact section against the advancing direction. The guide unit is arranged in a device housing i.e. plastic housing. The elastic element is made of silicone, rubber and/or synthetic rubber. An independent claim is also included for a hot glue device system.
