The hood (1) has an inner chimney housing (2) comprising a lower part, and a suction housing (4) holding a supporting frame element and an upper supporting frame element (6), which is attached to a ceiling surface. An upper telescopic part is partly covered by a lower telescopic part (8). The upper telescopic part is mounted on the inner chimney housing, and a mounting element is fixed on the inner chimney housing, where the mounting element supports the upper telescopic part at a lower edge region in an assembled state. The mounting element is vertically movable relative to the surface.
