The invention relates to a method and a device for contactless testing of the quality of a metallurgical casting product in the form of a continuous strand (1) which is being conveyed along a production line in a direction of conveyance (F), the test of the casting product being based on ultrasonics and the device (2) having an ultrasonic device (3) by means of which the quality of the casting product (1) can be contactlessly tested.
