The invention relates to a clutch master unit (1) for a clutch of a motor vehicle, having a piston (5) which can be attached to a mechanical control element (2), which piston is mounted so as to be at least axially movable in a housing (6) in reciprocating fashion, wherein the piston (5) adjoins a high-pressure chamber (7) whichIS varied in size during said movement, wherein, between the piston (5) and the housing (6), there are provided two seals (10), of which one, as a primary seal (11), seals off in fluid-tight fashion the high-pressure chamber (7) which is prepared for accommodating hydraulic fluid, wherein the high-pressure chamber (6) is formed (/ arranged / defined) within the piston (5). The invention also relates to a clutch having a clutch master unit (1) of said type.
