A collecting box 1, in particular for a heat exchanger of a motor vehicle air-conditioning circuit, comprising at least two inlet/outlet chambers 13, 14 of the collecting box 1 and two collecting chambers 19, 20, said collecting chambers 19, 20 being designed to be connected to tubes of a heat exchanger bundle of said exchanger, said collecting chambers 19, 20 extending in a main longitudinal extension direction and having a dimension, referred to as width, measured in a direction orthogonal to said longitudinal direction, each of the inlet/outlet chambers 13, 14 being connected to one of said collecting chambers 19, 20 and provided with an inlet/outlet opening 11, 12 of the collecting box 1, the inlet/outlet opening 12 of one of the inlet/outlet chambers 13, 14, referred to as enlarged opening, having a dimension, referred to as width, in the direction of the width of the collecting chambers 19, 20, that is greater than the width of the collecting chamber 19, 20 to which said inlet/outlet chamber 13, 14 is connected.
