The method further includes determining two or more parameters, wherein a first parameter of the two or more parameters comprises a distance between the vehicle and the specified location in space. The method further includes calculating a confidence level based on the two or more parameters, wherein the confidence level indicates an estimated accuracy for the weather data obtained from the vehicle. The method further includes determining whether the confidence level exceeds a threshold level and determining whether to transmit the weather data to the base station based on whether the confidence level exceeds the threshold level.
