PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide effective means that can isolate and culture stem cells such as MSC from a stored amniotic membrane tissue obtained by storing an amniotic membrane tissue for a long period of time by a simple method.;SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a storage method of an amniotic membrane tissue, the method comprising: chopping an amniotic membrane tissue collected from a living body so as to have a maximum diameter of 6 mm or less; immersing the chopped amniotic membrane tissue into a cryoprotective liquid so that an amniotic membrane tissue weight/(an amniotic membrane tissue weight+a cryoprotective liquid weight) is 10 wt% or more and less than 50 wt%; and putting the chopped amniotic membrane tissue and cryoprotective liquid into a container to cryopreserve them in an environment of -80°C or less. The invention also relates to a method for preparing stem cells from the stored amniotic membrane tissue.
