PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a composite material having a very low content of carbon-based nanofillers exhibiting improved mechanical properties; and a process for preparation of the composite material and different uses thereof.SOLUTION: A composite material contains at least one polymer selected from thermoplastic polymers, alone or as a blend with an elastomeric resin base. The composite material contains carbon-based nanofillers selected from carbon nanotubes, carbon nanofibers, graphene or a mixture thereof at a concentration between 0.1 ppm and 99 ppm in order to improve mechanical properties, in particular the tensile properties.SELECTED DRAWING: None
