PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photovoltaic power output prediction device that takes into account the fact that output of solar photovoltaic power generation equipment is reduced due to residual snow on a panel of the photovoltaic power generation equipment after the end of snowfall.SOLUTION: A photovoltaic power output prediction device includes a snow cover coefficient calculating unit that calculates a snow cover coefficient indicating a ratio of first power generation output of photovoltaic power generation facility corresponding to a first solar radiation at the time of non-snow cover and second power generation output of the photovoltaic power generation facility corresponding to the first solar radiation at the time of snow cover, based on the first power generation output and the second power generation output. The photovoltaic power output prediction device also includes a residual snow coefficient calculating unit that calculates a residual snow coefficient whose value increases with the lapse of time from the first time point based on the snow cover coefficient at the first time point and a correction function whose value increases with the lapse of time from the first time point by considering that the residual snow on a panel of the photovoltaic power generation facility decreases with the lapse of time from a first time point when the snowfall has ended. The photovoltaic power output prediction device further includes a power generation output calculation unit that calculates power generation output of the photovoltaic power generation facility based on the residual snow coefficient and a current or future second solar radiation at the second time point.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
