PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst ink for forming the electrode catalyst layer of solid polymer fuel cell capable of reducing occurrence of crack during the coating and drying process of the catalyst ink, and in which performance deterioration is less likely to occur during operation under low humidification and high humidification conditions.SOLUTION: A catalyst ink for forming the electrode catalyst layer of solid polymer fuel cell contains two kinds of polyelectrolyte, i.e., a first polyelectrolyte and a second polyelectrolyte of different EW, catalyst supporting carbon particles where carbon particle carrier is carrying the catalyst, and a dispersion medium. It is produced by admixing a first polymer electrolyte of relatively small EW, and catalyst supporting carbon particles where carbon particle carrier is carrying the catalyst into the dispersion medium, and then admixing a second polymer catalyst of relatively large EW into the dispersion medium.SELECTED DRAWING: None
