PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a vanadium redox secondary battery capable of achieving reduced thickness of a barrier membrane without increasing the number of members and the number of steps and having good cycle characteristics and self-discharge characteristics; a barrier membrane for a redox secondary battery; and a method of producing a barrier membrane for a redox secondary battery.SOLUTION: A vanadium redox secondary battery includes: a positive electrode including an active material containing vanadium ions or ions including vanadium; a negative electrode including an active material containing vanadium ions or ions including vanadium; and a barrier membrane 7 having ion permeability and partitioning the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The barrier membrane 7 includes a porous base material 71, and the porous base material 71 includes: an ion permeation part 72 including a resin material with ion permeability filled in a part or all thereof in a film thickness direction; and an unfilled part 73 penetrating through in the film thickness direction while the resin material is not filled therein.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
