PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder for printing ink for obtaining ink excellent in printability, laminate strength and boil/retort properties.SOLUTION: A binder for printing ink contains a polyethylene glycol (hereinafter referred to as "PEG") containing polyurethane resin and a vinyl chloride vinyl acetate copolymerization resin as components, where the PEG-containing polyurethane resin is obtained by reaction of at least (A) polyester polyol having a number average molecular weight of 1,000 to 6,000, (B) PEG, (C) a diisocyanate compound and (C) a chain extender, a content ratio of (B) the PEG is in a range of 1-40 pts.mass with respect to 100 pts.mass of the PEG-containing polyurethane resin, and a content ratio of the vinyl chloride vinyl acetate copolymerization resin to the PEG-containing polyurethane resin is 1/2 to 9 by mass ratio.SELECTED DRAWING: None
