PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method designing a wall thickness of a line pipe according to various use environments and laying methods.;SOLUTION: A device designing a wall thickness of a line pipe comprises: an acquisition unit 1 which acquires information with respect to service conditions of the line pipe, inner diameter of the line pipe and yield stress according to the service conditions; a setting unit 2 which sets a wall thickness of the line pipe; a calculation unit 3 which calculates outer diameter of the line pipe and estimates circularity on the basis of the information acquired by the acquisition unit 1 and the wall thickness set by the setting unit 2; a judgement unit 4 which judges whether or not the line pipe with the wall thickness set by the setting unit 2 is collapsed in the use environment on the basis of one or more selected from a ratio of the wall thickness to the outer diameter derived in advance, the circularity, and the yield stress, and the relationship between the wall thickness and the estimated crush strength; and a determination unit 5 which determines the wall thickness of the line pipe on the basis of the judgement result of the judgement unit 4.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
