PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position specification method capable of specifying a position of a joining part in a tire inspection image.SOLUTION: A position specification method according to the present invention includes the steps of: measuring a surface or inner structure of a tire, and acquiring an image representing the measured tire surface or inner structure by spreading it in the tire circumferential direction, as an inspection image; specifying a position of a marker provided at a position on a prescribed tire circumference on the tire surface, on the inspection image; acquiring, from storage means, information of a circumferential position of a joining part located on the tire circumference, the joining part as a part where a member constituting an annular body is joined in the tire circumferential direction, and information of the position of the marker located on the tire circumference, as information known when molding the tire; and specifying the position of the joining part on the inspection image, with the position of the marker specified on the inspection image defined as the reference, using the information of the circumferential position of the joining part and the information of the marker position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
