PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish an efficient production method for a silica gel aqueous solution under the finding that an acidically modified silica gel aqueous solution has drug efficacy, to solve the problem that, in simple electrolysis for a silica gel aqueous solution, though an acid anolyte in the vicinity of an anode and an alkaline catholyte in the vicinity of a cathode are produced, their isolation has been difficult, thus to establish their efficient production method.SOLUTION: City water in a container is partitioned with a perforated solid wall, and, by the action of an electroosmotic flow applying d.c. voltage to electrodes in contact with the liquids on both the sides, a catholyte whose water level has been increased is introduced into an anode side, and the liquid is circulated. On the way, the city water dissolves a silica gel at the inside of the catholyte, is thereafter dropt into an anolyte, is oxidized by the catalytic action of oxygen generated by the electrolysis of the water progressing simultaneously with the working of the electroosmotic flow and the platinum of the anode electrode, is made into a silica gel aqueous solution modified into acidity and has been efficiently isolated and collected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
