FLAME HOLDING CAVITY OF SCRAMJET ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weight saving technique capable of improving the reliability of flame holding at a high speed over a wide operation range of a scramjet engine, to thereby avoid thermal blockage.;SOLUTION: A cavity is used for the flame holding of a scramjet engine to be used over a wide range from a supersonic velocity to an extreme supersonic velocity. A mechanism for varying the capacity of a holding cavity to a light-weight to a high speed in accordance with the actuation condition of the scramjet engine is employed to improve reliability of flame holding and avoid thermal blockage.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
