PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a tetragonal zirconia electrolyte material capable of preparing a solid electrolyte layer of a solid oxide fuel cell suppressed in a change of a crystal phase or deterioration of oxygen ion conductivity even if exposed to a hydrothermal degradation environment, a fuel electrode layer or the like; a solid electrolyte membrane and a fuel electrode membrane prepared using the tetragonal zirconia electrolyte material; and a single cell for a solid oxide fuel cell including the solid electrolyte membrane and/or the fuel electrode membrane.SOLUTION: There is provided a tetragonal zirconia electrolyte material which comprises 3 to 7 mol% of Sc as an oxide, further 0.0015 mol% or more and 1.5 mol% or less of one or two or more elements selected from the group consisting Y and lanthanoid having an atomic number of 57 and 59 to 70 in total as an oxide or 3 to 7 mol% of Sc as an oxide, further 0.0015 mol% or more and less than 0.0030 mol% of one or two or more elements selected from the group consisting of Y and lanthanoid having an atomic number 57 to 70 in total as an oxide, or 3 to 7 mol% of Yb as an oxide and 0.015 mol% or more and 1.5 mol% or less of one or two or more elements selected from the group consisting of Sc, Y and lanthanoid having an atomic number 57 to 69 in total as an oxide.SELECTED DRAWING: None
