PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wastewater treatment method and a wastewater treatment apparatus for effectively and stably removing a hazardous component contained in wastewater from coal gasification power generation equipment.;SOLUTION: The wastewater treatment method comprises: a chemical oxidation step of adding acid to wastewater from equipment for gasifying a fuel containing selenium in reduction atmosphere to convert the wastewater into acidic wastewater, then adding an oxidant to the acidic wastewater; a first coagulation precipitation step of adding a coagulant to the wastewater after the chemical oxidation step; a first biological treatment step of contacting the wastewater with active sludge under an aerobic condition after the first coagulation precipitation step; a second biological treatment step of, after the first biological treatment step, contacting the wastewater with active sludge under an anaerobic condition in which an organic article is present; a third biological treatment step of, after the second biological treatment step, contacting the wastewater with active sludge under the aerobic condition; and a second coagulation precipitation step of adding the coagulant to the wastewater after the second biological treatment step.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
