A system for automated analysis and risk notification of clinical values in an intensive care unit

In a risk level assessment method for multiple clinical conditions as follows, a set of clinical test results 32 including at least one blood test result and at least one arterial blood gas ABG test result is stored along with a time stamp for the patient. For each clinical condition, a risk level is determined for the clinical condition based on a clinical condition-specific subset of the set of clinical test results. This determination is made subject to the stored clinical condition-specific subset of laboratory test results being sufficient to determine the risk level. A time stamp is assigned to each determined risk level based on the time stamps for the clinical test results of the clinical condition specific subset of the clinical test results. The display devices 44, 46 display the determined risk level and the assigned time stamp for each clinical condition for which the determined risk level meets the display criteria.
