PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave-assisted magnetic recording medium that can reverse magnetization of a recording layer on a new principle using microwaves.;SOLUTION: A microwave-assisted magnetic recording medium according to an embodiment has a columnar body including a recording layer that has vertical magnetization orientation in a lamination direction and an assistance layer that is put on one surface of the recording layer and has a vortex magnetic structure, and assists in the magnetization reverse of the recording layer using the replacement energy accumulated in the assistance layer by microwave application.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
