PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for smelting an extralow carbon steel capable of smelting the extralow carbon steel containing Mn at low purification coast even with a facility having a simple structure.;SOLUTION: When an extralow carbon steel having Mn concentration of 0.05 mass% or more and C concentration of 0.01 mass% or less is smelted by using a vacuum degasser 1, high carbon ferro-manganese containing C is added during a rimmed treatment in the vacuum degasser 1 so that C added amount by the high carbon ferro-manganese is 0.024 mass% or less based on a molten steel 3 when the C concentration of the molten steel 3 before a treatment by the vacuum degasser 1 (secondary refining treatment) is 0.04 mass% or less.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
