PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease an eddy current loss by reducing the size of each cell in an iron-based soft magnetic material having a cell wall structure and including cells composed of matrix phases containing iron as a primary component and cell boundary phases containing a metal sulfide or the like as a primary component.;SOLUTION: An iron-based soft magnetic material comprises: a first element consisting of iron; a second element which is at least one element selected from a group consisting of chromium, molybdenum, copper and aluminum; and a third element consisting of at least a sulfur-containing chalcogen. The iron-based soft magnetic material further comprises 2 at% or less of titanium and 2 at% or less of nitrogen to a total of 100 at% of the first, second and third elements. In addition, aluminum may be blended to the iron-based soft magnetic material. A method for manufacturing the iron-based soft magnetic material comprises the step of bringing a molten metal of a raw material at a temperature of 1450°C or higher into contact with nitrogen.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
