PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide genome editing techniques practicable in various filamentous fungi including Aspergillus fungi such as Aspergillus oryzae.SOLUTION: The invention provides a method for editing the genome of filamentous fungi by direct introduction of a genome editing protein molecule or complex thereof. In a first aspect, a target gene on the genome of an Aspergillus fungus is edited by directly introducing into a cell of the Aspergillus fungus a genome editing protein molecule or a complex thereof directed to the target gene. In a second aspect, a DNA fragment of interest is knocked in at a desired target site on the genome of a filamentous fungus by directly introducing to a cell of the filamentous fungus a genome editing protein molecule or complex thereof directed to a target region on the filamentous fungus genome and the DNA fragment of interest. In a third aspect, a plurality of genes on the filamentous fungus genome are subjected to co-editing by directly introducing into a cell of the filamentous fungus, a genome editing protein molecule or a complex thereof directed to the plurality of the target genes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
