Disclosed herein are embodiments of systems, methods, and computer program products for establishing a communication channel associated with an asset. Certain embodiments allow users of residential assets such as appliances to share content related to the asset through a centralized information center for asset content. Aggregated content reduces redundant searches across multiple sources by many users looking for the same content. New data paths from users to users, manufacturers, and various third parties are established by connections that have occurred in the context of assets.
